Mobadass has a big surprise in store for fans this year — they are changing their band name and are going to announce the new name at Jazz Festival!

Sure to be their most electrifying Jazz Festival concerts yet, the band will perform exciting new originals from their upcoming album as well as classic favorites featuring surprise performances from some of Mobadass’ past members. Fans can expect the same signature mix of high-energy funky reggae from these hometown island rockers, led by three-time JUNO nominee and Wide Mouth Mason co-founder, Earl Pereira. Mobadass’ established line up also includes guitarist Justin Lee, keyboardist Sauvelm McClean, and drummer Jason Hattie.

Mobadass had their busiest year to date in 2010, including shows at the Winter Olympics, the Grey Cup, and the Western Canadian Music Awards. With a new album set for release this fall, the band is looking forward to an extensive touring schedule including high-profile shows and festivals across Canada.
