Volunteer with us

It takes over 400 energetic and dedicated volunteers to make the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival a premier cultural event in Saskatchewan. Volunteers work tirelessly in a variety of positions that include: artist hospitality, transportation, merchandise, promotions, bar-tending, set up, tear down, and venue supervision.

Led by a group of experienced coordinators, your volunteer experience at the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival will be like no other. From meeting other friendly and energetic volunteers, and maybe a world class musician or two, festival volunteers from the young to the young at heart, have told us that volunteering during the festival is the highlight of their summer. In 2023, the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival was also voted the Best Place to Volunteer in the Arts Sector in Saskatoon by Planet S Magazine’s Best of Saskatoon reader poll.

IMPORTANT DATES 

  • Volunteer Orientation: June 2, 2025 from 7:30 – 9PM at the Royal Canadian Legion #63 located at 606 Spadina Crescent W, Saskatoon.
  • Set Up: June 25-July 3
  • Festival Starts: July 3
  • Festival Ends: July 12
  • Take Down & Clean up: July 13-17
  • Volunteer Appreciation: July 13, 2025 5:00PM

Once you register to be a volunteer, you will receive a confirmation email and you will be added to our Volunteer mailing list where you will receive updates monthly. (*Note that these emails from MailChimp and often go to your spam or junk folder so please be diligent and check that you ARE receiving these important updates).

After the Volunteer Orientation in May, your Volunteer Coordinator will contact you regarding availability and shifts (we use a system called “SignUp” to schedule our volunteers).

Volunteers will be placed according to availability, skills, experience, and operational requirements.

VOLUNTEER FEE AND BENEFITS

All Festival volunteers are required to pay a $12.50 fee. Payment is due upon acceptance of the volunteer application. Applicants not approved to volunteer will not have to pay. The volunteer fee includes:

  • Special edition volunteer t-shirt (shirt must be worn at all times when on duty and may not be altered)
  • Complimentary admission to Festival concerts (some restrictions apply)
  • The opportunity to enjoy music, have fun, make friends, and give back to your community!
